Shirahama has rock entry points such as Engetsu Island, Gongenzaki and Hiki coast. Wakayama's hot-spring resort on Tanabe Bay — Engetsu arch, the Sandanbeki cliffs and the Hiki coast to the south, warmed by the Kuroshio. June–November; the Kuroshio keeps the water warm into late autumn, winter brings the north-west monsoon, and typhoons come August–October.
