Los modelos definen la ventana. Pero entrar o no se ve solo a pie de agua: cuenta las series, observa la rompiente en la entrada. Ante la duda, no entras.

Here everything comes down to what time you are in the water. By nine the beach is packed and the two-hundred-metre rule shuts the near reef for you until evening. The season is June to October, but the real days start in September, when the beach empties out. All of May is closed in Greece. Night is banned, sunset to sunrise.

Nobody counts level here, and there is effectively no current in the bay — that is why the water stands so clear. The flip side: whatever you stir off the bottom goes nowhere and hangs in the same spot for the next half hour. By evening after a hot day the top metre is churned by swimmers and boats, and from below it reads as a milky ceiling.
abrigo
A bay with two low arms and a rocky islet in front of the beach — the arms and the islet kill the chop and inside it is nearly always quiet. North and north-east cross the ridge of the finger and reach the water spent. This bay has exactly one hole: it faces west, and everything arriving from west and south-west walks straight in.

With N or NE you can come even when it blows hard: visibility holds between ten and thirty metres, the best water on the west coast. West and south-west kill the place at once — the shallow saddle between the beach and the islet is only four to five metres, the surge lifts sand off the bottom and you swim out to the far side of the reef blind.
peligro
Problem number one here is people. It is an organised flagged beach with sunbeds, in July and August the shoreline is a solid crowd and shooting by the near rock is simply not on. Add paddleboards, inflatables and runabouts cutting straight across the bay. Fly the buoy high and stay inside fifty metres of it — here that is not a formality.

A dirt track turns off the Nikiti–Neos Marmaras road and brings you almost to the water, but in summer there is no parking to be had after eight in the morning. You kit up on the sand, enter from the beach towards the islet, cross the shallow saddle underwater and then work round its outer side, where the rock runs down to twenty-eight metres.

Dawn here is not a preference but the only window: by ten or eleven the northerly fills in and you are done for the day. The season is June to October, with September and October giving the longest quiet mornings. All of May is closed in Greece. Night is banned, sunset to sunrise, and the tunnel in the dark is doubly out of the question.

Level does nothing here, but the open gulf breathes. After several days of meltemi cold clear water rises along the reef and then a flow runs south along the shore — you feel it in your fins on the way back. At the tunnel at twenty-five to thirty metres the water is noticeably colder and clearer than up top, and the boundary between the layers is visible.
abrigo
There is nothing to shelter the east side of the finger: a shallow bay with low headlands looking straight into the open Singitic gulf, with Athos across the water. Waves from north and north-east roll the whole length of that gulf and arrive here undiminished. The only lee is the northern headland, a narrow strip along the rocks and only in a light blow.

Your wind here is south and south-west: it comes off the land, lays the water down and the visibility turns into the best on the whole finger. North, and especially around thirty degrees, shuts the place completely: the swell rolls right onto the reef, the shallows boil, and getting out over wet rock with fish on a day like that ends in cuts.
peligro
The tunnel at twenty-five to thirty metres is both the draw and the trouble: do not go into it on a breath-hold with a loaded gun, no fish is worth a ceiling over your head. The outer points run down to forty-two metres, which is deeper than anyone should work alone. There is a campsite on the beach and crowds in summer — two hundred metres off swimmers.

Tarmac from Vourvourou and Sarti brings you to the campsite and you park right by the shore. You get in over sand and shingle at the northern end and then across rock — boots are not optional. The reef is a few minutes' swim out; the outer points are easier from a boat or after a long haul. The nearest dive centres are in Nikiti and Sarti.

First light, while the beach is empty and the water is not churned up: from June to October those are the only two quiet hours you get. October is the month — amberjack come onto the second wall and the swimmers are gone. All of May is closed in Greece. Night is banned sunset to sunrise, and there is no reason to be on a deep drop in the dark anyway.

Nobody counts the level here. You count the gap between the two walls: a weak along-shore flow runs down that channel, drifts the small stuff and holds it against the second drop — that is where the predators sit. After rain off the Sithonia hills a brown layer lies on top for a day and you work under it, starting straight at eighteen metres.
abrigo
The west side of the finger by Kalogria: the Sithonia ridge stands like a wall between you and the meltemi, the wind spills over the top and reaches the water already spent. That is why you work here on the days the east coast is shut solid. What this shore is open to is the other way — west and south-west, across the whole Toroneos gulf.

Come on N or NE, even a fresh one — the water over the first wall at six to eighteen metres stays quiet. With west or south-west do not bother: the surge works the shallow ridge, sand off the beach lifts and the first wall turns to milk, while on the second at twenty-two to forty-five you can still see, but getting back out is already dangerous.
peligro
The trap here is the second drop: it starts at twenty-two and slides to forty-five without you noticing, and the amberjack pull you down exactly there. Do not chase them along the edge and do not work alone. In summer small outboards run along this shore between the beaches, and you owe the organised beach two hundred metres.

Tarmac runs south from Nikiti along the west coast, the turn-off to the water is dirt and you park right by the beach. You get in over sand and slabs, boots help. The first wall starts a couple of minutes' swim off the shore; the second is a noticeably longer haul — plenty of people take a boat or bring gear down from Nikiti and Neos Marmaras.

In the cove work at first light, before the campsite wakes; for Nemesis go out on the first calm of the day, before the breeze. September and October are the best of the June-to-October season: warm water, empty shore. All of May is closed in Greece. Night is banned — the local centre runs night dives, but that is scuba, not you with a gun.

Nobody counts level here. At the cape a light steady current runs along the wall: it carries you down the face for free and you have to work back against it, which you plan for. Inside the cove there is no current at all, but after a busy day the sand around the islet keeps the water milky until morning.
abrigo
Kalamitsi is a half-circle cove with a narrow mouth and a rocky islet right off the beach, forty or fifty metres from the sand. The arms of the cove hold almost anything from north through east, which makes it the calmest corner of the east coast. Let the wind swing south or south-east and it walks straight into the mouth.
condiciones
North and even a fresh meltemi leave the cove workable — that is the whole point of it, on days when Armenistis and Sarti are already out. The Nemesis wall, though, lies outside the cape and wants honest calm: in any sea, holding a boat over it and dropping onto the drop is unpleasant. South and south-east close both at once.

Nemesis starts at seven or eight metres and that is a lie: the wall runs to seventy, and the limit here is yours to set, not the ground's. Kalamitsi is a family beach with kids, so two hundred metres off swimmers is not negotiable. And keep the geography in mind: six kilometres round the cape lies the Porto Koufo archaeological area, where the gun is banned.

Tarmac from Sykia and Sarti brings you to the village on the southern tip of the finger and you park by the beach. You enter off soft sand, swim out to the islet forty or fifty metres off and work round its outer side, where the reef runs to thirty. Nemesis is boat only — about fifteen minutes from Kalamitsi, the same from Porto Koufo.

Level means nothing here. What you count is the flow round the rock: past an isolated islet in open gulf water speeds up at the tips, pulls weakly but steadily, and on the way up it carries you off the boat without you noticing. After days of meltemi water piles into the gulf and a return flow runs along the shore. No river nearby, so the water stays blue.
abrigo
The islet has no shelter of its own — you pick the side. A bare turtle-backed rock sticking up in the middle of the Toroneos gulf: in a meltemi the south and west faces sit in its lee while the north-east one takes a short nasty chop. The gulf itself is screened from Aegean swell by the Sithonia and Kassandra fingers, so only wind chop reaches here.

Your best day is N or NE: the finger holds the sea back, the water on the lee face stands like glass and you see twenty metres and more. South and south-west drive fetch the whole length of the gulf — there is no lee on any side then, you cannot hold a boat off the rock, and a buoy in chop disappears within a couple of strokes.

There is sixty metres straight under the wall and more below, no shore to reach and nowhere to surface but the boat — work with a partner and fly the buoy high, craft pass here constantly. And learn one line: if you run west from here past cape Kassandra to the Stomio lighthouse you enter the Thermaic gulf, where spearfishing is closed all year (Π.Δ. 68/2009).

Boat only: a bare rock five kilometres SSE of Neos Marmaras, no quay, no beach, no shade. Fifteen to twenty minutes from Porto Carras marina or from Marmaras itself. You anchor on the shallow two-to-five-metre shelf on the lee side and drop straight down the slope from there. The dive centres in Marmaras and Nikiti run here daily — use them as your marker.

In that timetable Porto Koufo is not a hunting slot but a berth: you come in the evening, sleep at the quay and leave at first light for the capes of Sithonia where you may shoot, before the day breeze gets up.

The level moves ten or twenty centimetres and settles nothing. What you count is the throat: the water breathes in and out through the narrow gap, and after several days of meltemi the bay pushes murky water out past the capes. The inner basin is deep and still, with a cold layer sitting near the bottom even in August.
abrigo
Greece's most enclosed harbour: a long bay bitten into the land, with a narrow throat between high rock walls. The meltemi runs over the top and barely touches the water, so inside it stays a mirror whatever the direction. Only the outer capes past the throat are open, where the rock breaks away below twenty metres.
condiciones
There is no wind that makes this a place to come to with a gun: the bay and the water around it are a declared underwater archaeological zone and spearfishing is banned. You come for something else — to sit the weather out. With N and NE, when the east coast is all whitecaps, inside it is dead flat and you can lie here for days.

The law is the hazard here. Porto Koufo is a declared underwater archaeological area (ΦΕΚ 1710/Β/2003 together with ΦΕΚ 336/Β/2004) and spearfishing is named in the text and forbidden. No coordinate boundary is published, so the harbour and the water around the capes both count as closed. A gun in the water here is a criminal case, not an argument about a fine.

Tarmac from Toroni and Sykia takes you straight into the village: a quay, tavernas, fuel, room for a boat and deep water right against the wall. It is a good base to work out of — fifteen to twenty minutes round the cape to Kalamitsi and the Nemesis wall, noticeably longer up the west coast to Kelyfos.

✓No hace falta licencia: el permiso de aficionado se abolió en 2014 (Ν. 4256/2014) — todas las prohibiciones establecidas siguen vigentes.
•Registro del pescador aficionado (ΟΣΠΑ / Μητρώο Ερασιτεχνών Αλιέων): el Reg. (UE) 2023/2842 obliga a los Estados a registrar la pesca recreativa, y el registro griego se describe como en preparación. No hemos encontrado ni acto en vigor ni registro operativo en 08.2026 — no confirmado. Consulta gov.gr antes de ir.
✓Edad: 16+ (menores de 16 no pueden practicar pesca submarina; ΠΔ 373/85, art. 3§1γ).
✓Solo de día: del amanecer al ocaso. La noche está prohibida (ΠΔ 373/85, art. 3§1β).
✓Solo a pulmón libre (apnea): escafandra/cualquier aparato de aire está prohibido — ni siquiera puede llevarse a bordo (ΠΔ 373/85, art. 3§2γ).
✓Distancias: ≥200 m de bañistas, puertos, embarcaciones fondeadas y redes señalizadas; prohibido cazar en los canales y en las entradas/salidas de puertos (ΠΔ 373/85, art. 3§1δ/ε).
✓Boya OBLIGATORIA: boya flotante amarilla + bandera amarilla con franja diagonal roja y las letras «Υ.Δ.», visible a ≥300 m; mantente a menos de 50 m de la boya (ΠΔ 373/85, art. 3§3).
✓Límite: 5 kg/día (o un trofeo más pesado que el límite). Mero (Epinephelus) — máx. 1/día, no está prohibido (ΠΔ 373/85, art. 2§2).
✓La venta/comercialización de las capturas de aficionado está prohibida (ΠΔ 373/85, art. 1§7).
✓Carga el fusil solo dentro del agua — fuera del agua no puede estar cargado (ΠΔ 373/85, art. 3§2β). La luz subacuática en la caza está prohibida (art. 3§2ζ).
✓Erizos — 20/día por persona y 30/día por embarcación (ΠΔ 373/85, art. 2§2). Las redes en cualquier fase de la caza están prohibidas, y no se puede sacar la captura de las artes o redes de otros (art. 3§2). Esponjas y corales no puede cogerlos el pescador recreativo (art. 1§6).
✓Los fusiles neumáticos y de gomas están PERMITIDOS (mito en las guías en inglés). Solo se prohíben los arpones con carga explosiva/química —
Protocolo de seguridad
Series: observa las series de olas ≥15 min antes de entrar; Hmax ≈ 2×Hs, la rompiente puede extenderse 50 m más allá de la línea de espuma. Una calma >10 min con período >12 s = una serie grande «en retraso», NO entres; entra justo después de pasar una serie completa y reevalúa al minuto 30.
Salida PRIMERO: identifica la salida Y una alternativa antes de entrar. En una costa rocosa/de bloques un aumento de 0,5 m en el mar de fondo puede hacer imposible la salida — quedar atrapado/sin salida es el principal asesino.
Corriente de cabo: en las puntas salientes suele haber una corriente de retorno topográfica permanente, independientemente del modelo — localízala, entra/sal por el lado de barlovento y nunca nades a contracorriente.
Frío: traje según la SST del chip; el primer escalofrío = pico metabólico y caída de la apnea → sal al primer escalofrío persistente. Limita la sesión a 45–60 min por debajo de 15 °C.

Sithonia tiene puntos de entrada desde la roca como Porto Koufo Wall, Kelyfos (Turtle island) y Bahia Beach Reef. El dedo más agreste, claro y rico — arrecifes, islotes, paredes, pecios. Más abajo tienes cada punto (acceso, abrigo y peligros) y la previsión de hoy.

De junio a octubre (mayo vedado); las tres penínsulas del Golfo Termaico son tranquilas y poco profundas — un verano fácil y fiable.

¿Qué peces se cazan en Sithonia?
Las fichas de especies dan 16 especies con presencia real en esta cuenca; las más fuertes aquí son dorada, lubina, lisa / pardete, pulpo común, mero y dentón. Las tallas mínimas en Grecia son NACIONALES, no locales: dorada 20 cm · lubina 25 cm · mero 45 cm · pargo / bocinegro 18 cm · sargo 23 cm · herrera 20 cm · corvallo / corball 25 cm · pulpo común 750 g. Las especies sin talla de la UE solo tienen el umbral de 150 g. El mero (Epinephelus) — máx. 1/día, no está prohibido (ΠΔ 373/85, art. 2§2).
¿Está prohibida la pesca submarina en mayo en Sithonia?
Sí. Mayo es una PROHIBICIÓN TOTAL de la pesca submarina todo el mes, cada año, en toda Grecia (ΠΔ 373/1985, art. 3§1α) — también en Sithonia. Es ley en vigor, no un borrador, y no hay excepción local. Planifica de junio a abril.
¿Cuántos kilos de pescado se pueden llevar al día en Sithonia?
El límite diario es 5 kg, o un trofeo más pesado que el límite (ΠΔ 373/85, art. 2§2). El mero (Epinephelus) — máx. 1/día. Cualquier pez debe pesar al menos 150 g (art. 3§2στ) y la venta de las capturas de aficionado está prohibida (art. 1§7). El límite es nacional — en Sithonia es el mismo que en toda Grecia.
El puerto natural más profundo de Grecia + cabos/cuevas exteriores; pared 20→50–120 m en el lado que da al mar, somero por dentro — grandes pargos y mero por debajo de los 20 m; el refugio para cualquier tiempo (totalmente cerrado). En barco/desde tierra.
✓Tallas mín.: lubina 25 cm · dorada 20 cm · sargo 23 cm · mero 45 cm · pulpo 750 g (ΠΔ 62/2024). Cualquier pez — no menos de 150 g (ΠΔ 373/85, art. 3§2στ). Especies sin talla (dentón, medregal, espetón, vieja) — solo el mínimo de 150 g. Consulta la ficha de especies.
✓Prohibición total de captura: Pinna nobilis (πίννα), corales y esponjas (ΠΔ 373/85, art. 1§6 + Directiva Hábitats 92/43).
✓Invasores: capturar el pez león (λεοντόψαρο) se fomenta — ⚠️ espinas venenosas. El pez globo plateado (λαγοκέφαλος) ☠️ NO COMER — toxina mortal (TTX), venta prohibida (Reg. 853/2004, Annex III Sect. VIII Ch. V(E)), muerde. El pez conejo (γερμανός) es comestible — espinas venenosas.
✓En CUALQUIER zona arqueológica subacuática declarada y en los sitios históricos sumergidos la pesca submarina está PROHIBIDA — el acto nombra el ψαροντούφεκο (ΚΥΑ ΥΠΠΟ/ΓΔΑΠΚ/ΑΡΧ/Α1/Φ41/11228/1865, ΦΕΚ 336/Β/2004, parte Α §2 δ + parte Β). Alcanza también a las zonas que nuestro mapa no dibuja. No tocar antigüedades (Ν. 3028/2002). Mapa — geoportal ENALIA (thalchor-2.ypen.gov.gr/layers/geonode:ENALIA).
•Parques marinos nacionales de Alonissos/Espóradas del Norte y Zakynthos (Laganas): la pesca submarina está PROHIBIDA en el parque. Pero la zona Β4 de Alonissos no es maciza — el ΦΕΚ 1741/Β/2011 reabrió en ella 4 tramos (costa N Αγ. Δημήτριος–Άκρο Απύθμενο, Μηλιά–Σπαρτίνες, όρμος Κλήμα en Περιστέρα, costa de Μεγάλος Αδελφός), y el mismo acto crea la ΕΕΑΧ Περιστέρας, donde pescar sí está prohibido. Nuestra capa pinta el parque entero, es decir, es más estricta que el acto. Confirma los límites con la gestión del parque.
•Parque de buceo de Kinuria Sur/Arcadia: la Ν. 4688/2020 crea parques subacuáticos, pero no hemos leído en el acto una prohibición de la pesca submarina dentro — la tratamos como NO PROBADA, no como confirmada. El límite del parque tampoco está en nuestro mapa (el acto no publica coordenadas). Pregunta en el λιμεναρχείο de Leonidio/Tyros antes de ir.
•Prohibiciones locales del : además de las reglas nacionales, cada capitanía dicta las suyas (ΓΚΛ/ΕΚΛ y decisiones del λιμενάρχης). En el registro de ΛΣ-ΕΛ.ΑΚΤ contamos ~163 de ellas que alcanzan al fusil, en 48 puertos — nuestro mapa NO las dibuja. Mira tu puerto: alieia.hcg.gr/prohibitions/local/local17.php.
•Localmente MÁS ESTRICTO que la regla nacional: Corfú (Kerkyra) — del 01.04 al 31.10 la pesca submarina está prohibida a menos de 200 m de la costa, incluso donde no hay bañistas (απόφαση Λ/Χ Κέρκυρας 2141.1/2939/2024, ΦΕΚ Β΄3269/2024). En la práctica cierra la entrada desde costa en Corfú durante la temporada. Leímos el acto en el registro, no en el ΦΕΚ — confírmalo en el λιμεναρχείο.
•Localmente MÁS ESTRICTO: Léucade — 300 m en vez de 200, y no solo el fusil: se prohíben ψαροντούφεκο, redes y palangres a menos de 300 m de las zonas de mar, playas y costas del distrito portuario DONDE HAY BAÑISTAS (απόφαση Λ/Χ Λευκάδας 2131.13/1477/2022, literalmente «όπου χρησιμοποιούνται από λουόμενους»). El acto regía hasta el 30.09.2022 y no hallamos prórroga; un acto caducado no demuestra que la prohibición haya terminado. Pregunta en el λιμεναρχείο de Léucade.
•Localmente MÁS ESTRICTO: Symi — del 15.06 al 15.09 está prohibido pescar POR CUALQUIER MEDIO a menos de 200 m de zonas de playa y en áreas costeras habitadas DONDE HAY O SUELE HABER BAÑISTAS (απόφαση Λ/Χ Σύμης 2131.13/882/2016). Aparte y todo el año: pescar por cualquier medio está prohibido dentro del puerto y su zona marítima, salvo a caña/línea desde tierra (ΓΚΛ Σύμης, art. 151, ΦΕΚ 362/Β/2004). Actos copiados del registro, no cotejados con el ΦΕΚ.
•Localmente: en los puertos de Lavrio y Kea la pesca submarina está prohibida en TODA la lámina de agua portuaria, no solo por la regla de los 200 m; aparte, frente a las playas de los hoteles (ΓΚΛ Λαυρίου, art. 240, ΦΕΚ 460/Β/1978). Acto copiado del registro, no cotejado con el ΦΕΚ.
•Próximamente: se están creando dos nuevos parques marinos nacionales (Jónico + Cícladas del Sur, ~27 500 km²). Aún NO en vigor (ΠΔ en tramitación, mediados de 2026). Cuando entren — prohibición de arrastre + costera estacional 15.04–31.05; en las zonas estrictas la pesca submarina estará prohibida. Consulta antes de la temporada.
⛔ Pinna nobilis (πίννα, nacra) — prohibición total de captura/muerte (Directiva 92/43, ; en peligro crítico).
Las reglas cambian y el Λιμεναρχείο (autoridad portuaria) local puede imponer restricciones locales. Antes de salir, confirma las reglas vigentes y las zonas arqueológicas declaradas (ENALIA).
¿Se puede pescar con botella en Sithonia?
No. Solo en apnea: la escafandra y cualquier aparato de aire están prohibidos — ni siquiera pueden llevarse a bordo (ΠΔ 373/85, art. 3§2γ). En Sithonia rige también el resto del marco nacional: 16+, solo de día, ≥200 m de bañistas, puertos, embarcaciones fondeadas y redes señalizadas, y boya «Υ.Δ.» obligatoria a menos de 50 m. Los fusiles neumáticos y de gomas están permitidos; solo se prohíben los powerheads.
