Havajska praćka i pole spear: oprema i tehnika za Bahame
Na Bahamima je puška zabranjena, pa imaš samo dva legalna alata: havajsku praćku i pole spear. Nijedan nema kundak ni okidač — upravo zato ih zakon dopušta (Fisheries Regulations, reg. 2). To nije nedostatak: dobro korišteni smrtonosni su na grebenu i tjeraju te da priđeš bliže, a to je bit ronjenja na dah. Zakon dopušta samo uređaj koji izbacuje projektil «by the force of a sling of rubber» — havajsku praćku — plus pole spear, koji ništa ne izbacuje. Puška s kundakom i okidačem spada u «prohibited apparatus» (reg. 2(b)). Logika je očuvanje i baština: drži lov na dah, niskotehnološkim i selektivnim, i štiti krhki resurs grebena. Nije hir — to je DNK bahamskog podvodnog ribolova.
Havajska praćka: kako radi i tehnika
To je cijev ili drška s gumom koja izbacuje slobodnu (nevezanu) šipku — kao podvodna praćka. Napuniš je hvatajući šipku i rastežući gumu; naciljaš i pustiš. Budući da šipka leti slobodno, domet je kratak i moraš je vratiti, pa pomaže rola ili uže za povrat. Tehnika: priđi jako blizu (2–3 m), naciljaj tik iza škrga i opali u poniranju ili iz zasjede. Sjajna na rumencima, hogfishu i ribi grebena.
Pole spear: kako radi i tehnika
To je koplje (staklena vlakna ili karbon, 1,5–2,7 m) s gumom na dršci i izmjenjivim vrhom: trozubac «paralyzer» za malu ribu, jednostruki vrh ili slip-tip za veći plijen. Napuniš ga rastežući gumu duž koplja i držeći ga u ruci. Kratak domet ali vrlo brz: idealan za crvenu ribu, hogfish i rupe grebena. Tehnika zasjede ili «na čekanju»: budi miran, pusti ribu da priđe i ispruži se u zadnjih pola metra.
Praćka vs pole spear: što ponijeti
- Pole spear: kompaktan (rastavlja se za kofer), jeftin i popustljiv. Kralj na crvenoj riži, hogfishu i ribi grebena. Najbolja prva kupnja.
- Havajska praćka: veći domet i snaga sa slobodnom šipkom; bolja za veću ili plašljiviju ribu, uz cijenu vraćanja šipke svakim hicem.
- Praktično pravilo: za prvo putovanje na Bahame, pole spear pokriva gotovo sve. Dodaj praćku ako loviš veliku ribu grebena. Obje BEZ kundaka i okidača, inače su nezakonite.
Što ponijeti (putnički komplet)
- Rastavljivi pole spear (3 dijela) za kofer, s rezervnim vrhovima i gumama; havajska praćka sa slobodnim šipkama.
- Plutača i ronilačka zastava s užetom, nož, rukavice, odijelo od 3 mm ili likra, olovni pojas (utege kupi ili iznajmi na odredištu) i mrežasta vreća.
- Spremnik za crvenu ribu («Zookeeper» tip) ako ćeš raditi culling, i tvoja dozvola sa «spear endorsementom». Nikakve puške.

Ne postoji iznajmljivanje pušaka (zabranjene su). Ponesi svoj pole spear ili havajsku praćku, ili ih kupi prije putovanja online (JBL, Riffe, Scuba, itd.). Na odredištu, ronilačke trgovine u Nassauu, Freeportu i marine Family Islanda prodaju pole spearove, gume, vrhove i opremu protiv crvene ribe; neki charteri posuđuju praćke ili pole spearove gostima.
