Open the seafloor mapRocky headland on the El Haouaria coast. Get in from the rocks on the side sheltered from the swell and work the boulders and ledges along the point; expect roughly 3–12 m within a short fin. Dive it in calm seas only, tow a buoy and keep well clear of boats and nets.
Google MapsSOLO is the biggest risk: underwater you can black out from lack of oxygen silently and fatally, with no one around. Solo is never truly «safe». Below are the best weather windows; carry a buoy, tell someone your plan and exit time, and any doubt — don't go.

May–October. The north coast (Tabarka) is the clearest; the Gulf of Gabès is shallow and tidal. Winter brings NW gales — pick the gaps.
