Rules change. Before heading out, get the DICAPI diver card/registration (Coast Guard) — spearing on scuba is banned; check the sectors of RN Mar Tropical de Grau.
El Nuro has rock entry points such as Muelle El Ñuro (tortugas), Arrecife El Ñuro Sur and Peña Norte El Ñuro. Green-turtle sanctuary over coral reef: swimming with them by the pier is the postcard, but taking is banned there — hunt only the outer reefs. Below you'll find each spot (access, shelter and hazards) and today's forecast.

In El Nuro (Peru), recreational apnea spearfishing needs NO licence (SPDA 2021/IMARPE), but the regulation isn't enacted — follow PRODUCE. Breath-hold only, with a buoy; don't sell the catch.
