Open the seafloor mapEnter from the beach and follow the right side of the bay out to Castle Island, with gullies, walls and a cave behind the island at about 8 m; maximum about 12 m. Dive at high slack; moored boats and lines on the left of the bay, and avoid the blowhole in any swell.

Recreational spearfishing in the sea is legal in the UK without a licence — breath-hold only is the norm. Never spear salmon, sea trout or eels (Salmon and Freshwater Fisheries Act 1975). Bass: catch-and-release only 1 Feb–31 Mar (rod and line), then 3 a day, 42 cm min. Check the local IFCA/Marine Scotland/DAERA rules — in Cornwall no spearfishing dusk to dawn or with scuba. No-take zones (Lundy, Lamlash Bay, Flamborough) are closed.
Concrete track 150 m down to a gently sloping stony beach. Stick to the walled edges of the bay: about 15 m on the east side, to 30 m at the western exit; the middle is flat sand. Boat traffic to Skomer uses the bay.
