- Here the taverna timetable rules: from midday until evening boats come in for lunch and pick up the mooring buoys, and the water stops being yours. So it is dawn and the first three hours. June and September–October give the cleanest water. At night, sunset to sunrise, spearfishing is banned.

- Calling this a tide is generous: ten to thirty centimetres and the subject is closed. Out at the mouth, though, where the reef breaks down towards forty metres, you feel an along-shore drift: it pulls north and stiffens noticeably after a few windy days. Below twenty-five metres the water turns sharply colder.

- Agni is a tiny bay with three tavernas, squeezed between two rock shoulders; the slope rises straight behind it and the north-west wind passes overhead. Inside it is nearly always smooth. The mouth, though, faces east, and a north-easterly out of the channel walks straight in.
- uvjeti
- Maistro and anything westerly are your days: the reef reads from fifteen metres all the way down. A quiet southerly works too. On a north-easterly do not come: the boats on the moorings start swinging, and out on the reef the wave lifts silt from the sand pockets between the rocks.
