- İlkbahar (Mar–May): geçiş ve rüzgâr. Yucatán orfozu 31 Mart'a dek kapalı. Rüzgâr dindiğinde güney Cortez için iyi zaman.
- Yaz (Haz–Ağu): ısınır ve berraklaşır. Cortez ve güney Pasifik (Nayarit–Jalisco) tropikalleşir; sarıkuyruk, mercan ve sierra gelir. Pasifik kasırga sezonu başlar (Haz); uyarı bandına bak.
- Sonbahar (Eyl–Kas): zirve.

Cortez Denizi
The Sea of Cortez — «the world's aquarium» and the heart of Mexican spearfishing; 10–25 m clarity in the south (La Paz, La Ventana, Los Cabos). Tides drop north to south: the Upper Gulf's 6–7 m macro-tide means diving the slack.

Frequently asked questions
Rules current as of 2026 — always confirm with CONAPESCA/CONANP before you go. Spearfishing is breath-hold only (NOM-017-PESC-1994); a CONAPESCA permit is always required, and the ANP marine parks (Cabo Pulmo, Cozumel, Puerto Morelos) are no-take.
