plima: The right question on this coast is not what the tide is doing but what swell has been through. The current you will find towards the southwest will nearly always be wind-driven and not tidal. At Cetara the local currents depend more on the shape of the bottom than on the hour. Do not wait for the right tide: wait for the right sea.
zaklon: With an exposure of 218° the awkward sector runs from south to west, and outside it the day is usually saved. There is no general shelter here: there is a flank that holds in Libeccio and one that does not, and they swap as the sea turns. With wind from the southwest building, the window shuts fast: plan the way back with margin. The 110 m that separate the shore from ten metres of water tell you how much sea it takes to ruin the day.
uvjeti: With 200 m reached about 3100 m out, the limit of the day is set by your breath and not by the distance. With 20 m at 140 m from the entry you go from inshore water to outside water without any real transit. The best water nearly always arrives from offshore on a light Grecale. If the water gets worse while you are out, head for land rather than along the coast.
opasnost: In Libeccio the point becomes the worst place on this coast to get out of the water. The surface marker is compulsory: a float with a red flag and a white diagonal stripe, visible at 300 m, and you may not go more than 50 m from the vertical below it. Keep in mind the 0 m that separate you from the coast when you decide on the last descent. At 0 m from the shore no emergency sorts itself out: come out at the first sign.
pristup: At Cetara the point is reached on foot, and the long part of the day is the part out of the water. The first 100 m are the murkiest, and after them the bottom starts to read. The last metre before the water is the one where people get hurt. If the sea has changed while you were under, come out at the lowest point and not at the nearest one.

plima: If anything changes the level at Cetara, it is pressure and wind, not the moon. The typical range on this stretch is between twenty and forty centimetres: it opens no passages and closes none. The ten-metre line, 120 m offshore, does not move with the level: it moves with the swell. Water pushing you towards the southeast, that is towards the open sea, is the signal to come out.
zaklon: In a bay like this the shelter is a few tens of metres wide, tucked against the windward point rather than in the middle of the arc, and in a hard Scirocco not even that. The shore in front of the mark faces southeast, about 145°, so everything arriving from that sector gets in unobstructed. When the swell gets in, the whole coastal strip, 110 m wide here, lifts and the clarity goes. At Cetara whoever gets in first checks, whoever gets in out of habit is trusting yesterday.
uvjeti: If you cannot see the bottom 110 m out, the day is over before it starts. The bottom drops straight away: the 10 m contour runs about 120 m out and the 20 m contour 210 m. With the sun high the rock reads; under cloud you have to work closer. At Cetara the good days are few and have to be taken when they come.
opasnost: Coves also collect what the sea brings: lost nets and lines on the bottom. On the shoreline at Cetara the same national rules apply without discounts: breath-hold, daylight, marker in sight. The way back from 120 m out is longer than it looks once you are tired. The safety rules hold on the easy days too.
pristup: The entry is immediate: 10 m from the coast, measured on the OSM line. Access in a cove is easy; coming back along the coast rather less so. At Cetara the accesses change with the bathing season. From the entry point to the shore there are 10 m, and they are the metres that weigh most on the return.

plima: Swell from the southeast moves more water in ten minutes than the tide moves in six hours. The level barely moves: the 10 m contour stays 120 m from the shore at any hour of the day. If the current takes you past the 120 m of the ten-metre line, head straight back for land. At Cetara the level changes little, but the current towards the southeast can be noticeable in the channels.
zaklon: On the point at Cetara it is the flank that gives you the shelter, not the general lie of the coast. The opening to the southeast is wide: no nearby storm is needed here, an old sea from that sector is enough. Dead swell from the southeast arrives under a clear sky and no wind at all. Alone it counts double: no shelter is worth an uncertain way back.
uvjeti: Here depth grows faster than distance: 360 m of swimming is worth twenty metres of water. The first stretch is nearly always the worst: you cross it and judge afterwards. Past 120 m from the shore it is the water that decides the day and not the willingness. At Cetara the inshore current shifts the murk within hours: waiting sometimes works better than moving.
opasnost: On this point the way out is chosen beforehand: exposed rock does not forgive a mistake in timing. The marker has to follow you even when you are working 120 m from the shore: 50 m from the vertical below it is the legal maximum. At Cetara the conditions change faster than the forecast does. With 90 m out to five metres, the exit is short only if you decide on it in time.
pristup: The mark sits about 20 m from the coastline: the useful water starts practically under the shore. In Scirocco the only workable entry is the one on the opposite flank of the point. At Cetara the best place is the one you can leave without hurrying. Boots are worth more on land than in the water on this kind of entry.

plima: Even at springs the band out to five metres stays 320 m wide: the level does not change the route. Between the shore and five metres of water there are 320 m, and no tide shifts that line appreciably. With current and poor clarity together, better to postpone. With the shore 110 m from the mark, the alongshore current counts for more than any table.
zaklon: A mole shelters what lies behind it and worsens what lies in front: on the exposed side the swell rebounds off the blocks. The coast here runs NE–SW and opens to the northeast: that is what decides which forecast to read. If you get in as Grecale is easing, remember the sea stays up a day longer than the wind. At Cetara the old rule holds: watch the sea for ten minutes, then decide.
uvjeti: A slope this steep keeps the dirty strip narrow: past 340 m the sight is nearly always better. At Cetara the clarity is built on the days without swell, not on the hours without wind. With Grecale strengthening, the good window closes without warning. By 340 m from the shore you already know whether it is worth going on.
opasnost: The 500 m from used beaches starts at the water's edge, which is 110 m from here: in summer it is the first calculation to make. On the blocks of a mole the swell rebounds and the blocks shift more than they look as if they would. At Cetara the real risk is not the depth: it is the combination of tiredness and swell. With Grecale building, the window shuts sooner than the forecast says.
pristup: You get in off the blocks carefully: they are unstable and covered in weed. The 110 m crossing is made thinking of the sea you expect on the way back, not the one you have now. At Cetara the return is planned on the afternoon swell, not on the morning one. If you do not fancy swimming the 340 m back from ten metres of water, do not go any further out.

✓NEMA plaćene licencije, ali je obvezna besplatna REGISTRACIJA pri MASAF-u (prijava rekreacijskog morskog ribolova, online preko SIAN/SPID, godišnja) — to nije «licencija».
✓Samo na udah: autonomna oprema/rebreather/narghilè ZABRANJENI (art. 128-bis DPR 1639/68). Granica od 16 godina dolazi iz drugog akta — D.Lgs 4/2012, art. 6 c. 5; predati podvodnu pušku osobi mlađoj od 16 godina je prekršaj (art. 13-octies c. 3 b, u tekstu L. 75/2026).
✓Noć zabranjena: podvodni ribolov samo od svitanja do zalaska sunca (art. 129e DPR 1639/68).
✓Udaljenosti (art. 129 DPR 1639/68): ≥500 m od plaža s kupačima; ≥100 m od stajaćih alata/mreža i od plovila na sidru izvan luka.
✓Bova OBVEZNA (art. 130 DPR 1639/68): plovak s crvenom zastavom s bijelom dijagonalnom prugom, vidljiv ≥300 m; ronilac ostaje u krugu od 50 m od bove/pratećeg plovila.
✓Podvodna puška ne smije biti napeta izvan vode (art. 131 DPR 1639/68) — napni je samo pod vodom.
✓Podvodni ribolovac NE smije skupljati koralje, rakove ni mekušce — drugi stavak istog članka (art. 128-bis DPR 1639/68; ista norma u D.M. 249/1987, art. 2). ALI glavonošci su IZUZETI: hobotnica, sipa i lignja smiju se uzeti — iznimku izrijekom zadržavaju službene upute (circolare 6227201 od 23.07.1987). Dagnje — do 3 kg po osobi dnevno, samo uz odobrenje Capo del Compartimento Marittimo. Dnevno ograničenje od 5 kg broji SVE ulovljeno toga dana (D.Lgs 4/2012, art. 13-octies c. 4, L. 75/2026).
✓SMIJEŠ na istom plovilu nositi podvodnu pušku i dišni aparat — ali najviše JEDNU bocu do 10 L po plovilu, a njezina uporaba za ribolov je zabranjena (art. 128-ter DPR 1639/68). Dok si pod vodom, na plovilu mora ostati barem jedna osoba spremna pomoći, i mora postojati konop dovoljne dužine za izvlačenje ronioca.
✓Prodaja rekreacijskog ulova je ZABRANJENA (kontrolni režim EU, Reg. CE 1224/2009).
✓Dnevno ograničenje od 5 kg po osobi JE na snazi i kazneno je sankcionirano: 500–3.000 € do 10 kg, 2.000–12.000 € do 50 kg, 12.000–50.000 € iznad toga (D.Lgs 4/2012, art. 13-octies c. 4, u tekstu Zakona od 21. travnja 2026. br. 75). Iznimka: pojedinačna riba teža od 5 kg. Vrste u planu obnove i plavoperajna tuna: +1/3 (c. 5).

⛔ Prstac (Lithophaga lithophaga) — POTPUNA ZABRANA: izlov, posjedovanje, prijevoz, prodaja (D.M. 16/10/1998; zaštita EU). Ne diraj.

Sigurnosni protokol

Setovi: prati nizove valova ≥15 min prije ulaska; Hmax ≈ 2×Hs, zapljuskivanje može ići 50 m dalje od linije pjene. Zatišje >10 min uz period >12 s = veliki set koji «kasni», NE ulazi; uđi odmah nakon što prođe cijeli set i provjeri ponovno u 30. minuti.
Izlaz PRVO: nađi izlaz I rezervni prije ulaska. Na kamenitoj obali ili obali s gromadama porast mrtvog mora od 0,5 m može onemogućiti izlazak — ostati zaglavljen/bez izlaza glavni je ubojica.
Struja na rtu: na izbočenim rtovima često postoji stalna topografska povratna struja, bez obzira na model — lociraj je, ulazi/izlazi s privjetrine, nikad ne plivaj protiv nje.
Hladnoća: neopren prema prikazanoj SST; prvi drhtaj = skok metabolizma i pad apneje → izađi na prvi ustrajni drhtaj. Ispod 15 °C ograniči izlazak na 45–60 min.
Disciplina u solo ronjenju: bova gore; nekome reci lokaciju i vrijeme izlaska; konzervativna apneja (nikad ne forsiraj u hladnoj/mutnoj/uzburkanoj vodi); vidljivost <3 m — ne ulazi.
Poslijepodnevni vjetar: na mnogim obalama vjetar jača od podneva — planiraj izlazak iz vode do podneva; kad se digne kratki val — izlazi.
UV 11:00–15:00 (UV indeks ≥6): krema za sunce i pokrij se u pauzama na površini.
Solo je temeljni rizik (hipoksični gubitak svijesti bez partnera). Bilo kakva sumnja = ne ide se.
