Amiral gemisini aç — Key Largo →Striped bass, eyalet eyalet
Striped bass Kuzeydoğu'nun simge balığıdır — ve zıpkınla yasallığı klasik tuzaktır. Asla genelleme yapma; kural eyalet bazındadır:
- EVET zıpkınlayabilirsin: Rhode Island (açık «spear or bolt while diving» istisnası), New York (6 NYCRR 40.1: «angling and spearing»), New Jersey (açık eşdeğer yöntem), Delaware (oltayla eşitlik, batmış) ve Virginia (4VAC20-252-50, adı geçen takım). New Hampshire, çok muhtemel — yasak yok (yalnızca kanca/culling yasak).
- HAYIR zıpkınlayamazsın: Maine (açık DMR listesi), Massachusetts (M.G.L. 130 §100B, yalnızca olta), Connecticut (resmi «No Spearing» tablosu), Maryland (fırlatma takımından hariç, COMAR 08.02.25.03), Kuzey Carolina («unlawful to gig, spear, or gaff») ve Güney Carolina (§50-5-1700, gamefish yalnızca olta).
Virginia, Chesapeake'in zıpkına en dost eyaletidir.

Frequently asked questions
Rules current as of 2026 — spearfishing law is STATE-by-state in the US. License, spearable species, powerhead rules and beach/pier buffers all vary; federal sanctuaries (Gray's Reef, FL Keys, Flower Garden Banks) ban spearfishing. Always confirm with the state agency and local ordinances before you go.
Hangi eyaletlerde striped bass zıpkınlayabilirim?
Rhode Island, New York, New Jersey, Delaware ve Virginia'da evet; New Hampshire'da büyük olasılıkla evet (yasak yok). Maine, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maryland, Kuzey ve Güney Carolina'da HAYIR. Şehrinin sayfasında boy ve sezonu kontrol et (tipik 28–31", 1/gün).
Doğu Kıyısı'nda izin ne kadar?
Ucuz ya da ücretsiz. New York ve New Jersey ücretsiz kayıt kullanır; Maine ~$1–2; Massachusetts $10 (60+ ücretsiz); Rhode Island $7 mukim/$10 değil; Delaware $8.50/$20; Virginia $17.50/$25; Florida $17/$47. Güney Carolina dışarıdan gelenler için en pahalısı (~$75). New England karşılıklılığa sahip (ME/MA/RI/CT/NY).
En iyi batıklar nerede?
Kuzey Carolina («Atlantik'in Mezarlığı») ve New Jersey yoğun batık alanlarına sahiptir; NC'de açıktaki Gulf Stream batıkları sıcak, berrak su verir (20–28 °C).
New York'ta zıpkın kullanılırken batmış olmalı.
