Check the cam BEFORE you leave. Foam, brown/green murk, or waves washing the entry rocks = No-go. At night/in fog the cam is useless — treat it as «unknown», NOT «green».
Rules change. Exact distances from beaches/ports and seasonal closures are set by the local préfecture maritime — check its arrêté and the DIRM/OFB zone map before heading out.
Spearfishing in Audierne is not about chasing the most dramatic headland. The Raz de Sein is close, west-facing points accelerate with tide, and a modest Atlantic swell can make exits awkward. Lervily gives rock, bass, pollack and conger; Sainte-Évette is the sheltered learning cove; Pors-Poulhan is a calm-day cliff option. For any sea forecast Audierne, combine west swell, wind and slack time before choosing the entry.
The common rule is slack water. These places are shore entries, but they are not all beginner water.

Slack is the key condition. The area is mesotidal and exposed to Atlantic west swell, so visibility and exit quality change quickly. Legally, France requires no spearfishing licence or declaration since 2009, but civil-liability insurance is mandatory. Hunt in daylight, breath-hold only, keep away from ports, bathing zones, reserves and fishing vessels, and check local prefectural rules before entering.
